Editing options in a drop-down list

In Admin -> Registry maintenance -> List you can find all the drop-down lists that are available to edit. You can search for a specific list by entering a keyword here:

To edit a list, click on the name of the list:

Here you see all options that are currently in the drop-down list:

In this column you can see their order:

To rename an existing option, click 'Edit', adjust the name, and save:

To add more options to the list, press 'Add' and fill out the box for each language that you use. English is marked with an asterisk since this is a system default language and is always required. When you’re finished, press 'Save':

To delete an existing option, check mark the option and click on 'Delete':

In some lists, you may prefer to hide given values, instead of deleting the options completely. This refers to, for example, lists with locations. This feature is helpful if you want to use these options in the future. That way you don’t have to add them manually again.

Remove the check marks here to make the values invisible externally, for example in the application form:

To make the values invisible internally, for example in the project definition, remove these check marks:

Editing two-level drop-down lists

Some drop-down lists comprise two levels, for example:

Level 1, Country -> Sweden:

Level 2, Region -> Stockholm:

Level 1, Work area -> IT:

Level 2, Work orientation -> IT support:

To edit the lists comprising two levels, it is recommended to start by creating the options for the level 1 list.

Go to Admin -> Registry maintenance -> List to find the list you’d like to edit. Let us create the following lists: HR, IT and Economics. Then, the subcategories of the level 2 list can be created. The list with sub-categories to 'Work area' is called 'Work category' and is the level 2 list in this example.

When you enter a value for the level 2 list, start by selecting which list in the category above that it belongs to. Then, enter the value that will serve as a subcategory. Add as many values as you need.

The result looks like this:
